DJI AIR 3S RC 2 Overview

Achieving another first for their family of camera drones, the DJI Air 3S Drone with RC 2 Fly More Combo features a forward-facing LiDAR sensor that elevates the nighttime capabilities of the versatile Air 3S. The sensor is integrated into both the omnidirectional APAS avoidance system and the return-to-home function. It gives pilots an Air 3 that can fly, film, and come home more safely at night. Similar to the Air 3, the camera system of the Air 3S offers creators a dual-camera system—a 24mm wide angle and a 70mm telephoto, ideal for landscapes and portraits. For more dynamic and creative content creation, 2.7K vertical shooting is available on both cameras, as well as a host of other modes, such as subject tracking, automated flight paths, and complex maneuvers. As with the Air 3, the Air 3S can be taken almost anywhere, thanks to its compact and folding design.
                                                                       
Fly More Combo with RC 2
This version of the DJI Air 3S offers an upgrade to the standard version with the included RC 2 remote controller. The RC 2 doesn’t require a smartphone as it has a 5.5″ built-in display. The 1080p 700-nit high-bright display works well during the day, giving you a crisp view of the Air 3S’ live feed and telemetry. 

Additional Fly More accessories are geared to help you safely transport your gear and stay in the air for longer. You get two additional intelligent flight batteries that extend your flight time by 90 minutes. You also get two extra pair of low-noise propellers, a shoulder bag, a 3-piece ND filter pack with ND8, ND32, and ND128 filters, and a battery charging hub. The filters let you lower shutter speeds, and the hub can sequentially charge up to 3 batteries. A power accumulation feature can get you flying even more quickly by transferring the charge from low-power batteries to the battery with the highest charge.

Professional Quality
The dual-camera system of the Air 3S consists of a 1″ CMOS 24mm 50MP wide-angle camera and a 1/1.3″ CMOS 70mm 48MP medium telephoto camera. Together, they can capture clear, expansive landscapes or cinematic portraits and vehicle shots. Both cameras share the same video recording capabilities to keep your content consistent, with support for 4K60 HDR using 14 stops of dynamic range for high-contrast scenes and 4K120 in Slow Motion mode to capture fast-paced action. In addition to the standard color mode, you can choose 10-bit D-Log M with H.265 encoding and HLG, which allow for increased brightness and more detail in low-light scenes.

The camera system is supported by a wide variety of MasterShots and QuickShots options that give you the ability to perform pre-programmed flight paths and complex, professional maneuvers with a tap. The Air 3S is capable of intelligently returning to home in adverse conditions. If it’s nighttime, the new forward-facing LiDAR sensor is utilized to return while keeping clear of obstacles. If there is no access to GPS, the Air 3S can memorize its flight path in Non-GPS RTH mode and safely return to its takeoff point.
Storage and Off-State QuickTransfer
With 42GB of built-in storage, you can take to the air and capture a considerable amount of footage without needing an optional memory card. When you need to expand your storage, the Air 3S accepts optional V30/U3/A2 microSD cards up to 512GB. When retrieving your data, the Off-State QuickTransfer feature lets you do that with the drone powered off. Simply attach a USB cable to the Air 3S to copy footage to a mobile device or PC.

DJI Mini 5 Pro Overview

Capture low-light content with greater gimbal flexibility when you fly the Mini 5 Pro Drone with RC2 Fly More Combo Plus from DJI. The new edition of the Mini Pro gives you a bigger 1″ 50MP CMOS sensor for improved image quality in bright to low-light conditions. To shoot nighttime images and videos safely, the Mini 5 Pro has an upgraded nightscape omnidirectional obstacle avoidance system that can operate in just 1 lux of illumination. When capturing 4K60 HDR video, vertical video clips, or 4K120 slow-motion shots, the Mini 5 Pro’s updated gimbal can now handle more challenging angles with 225° of rotation. These improvements join an upgrade to ActiveTrack 360 and a boost in battery life, while still retaining Mini Pro’s palm-sized and foldable design.

Difficult Shots Made Easy
Keeping the best from the last generation, the Mini 5 Pro’s gimbal can rotate to shoot true vertical images and videos that you can immediately share to social media. This is now joined by a 225° wide-angle roll rotation that can be operated manually or work alongside intelligent flight modes, such as QuickShots, giving you the ability to capture shots at difficult angles.
Improved Camera System

Now with a larger 1″ 50MP CMOS, the Mini 5 Pro’s one-lux low-light content enjoys improved detail. Capture video at 4K60 HDR with 14 stops of dynamic range, as intelligent processing optimizes results. When subjects have to stand out, use the 48mm Med-Tele mode and 2x zoom.

Other features include a 55° upward tilt to help with shooting tall structures, the ability to slow down the action in 4K120 resolution, 10-bit video with 12,800 ISO, and D-Log M and HLG color modes.

Nightscape Obstacle Avoidance
While shooting in low-light environments, the new nightscape obstacle avoidance system can use the front-facing LiDAR sensor and omnidirectional sensors to auto-detect and avoid objects with just one lux of brightness. The full suite of object detection sensors includes the forward-facing LiDAR, fisheye lenses for front, rear, left, right, and upward detection, bottom-facing binocular lenses, and a 3D infrared sensor.
Safer Trips Home
Supporting L1 and L5 dual-band GNSS, the Mini 5 Pro can connect to more satellites to achieve stable and precise positioning when flying and returning home. If the signal is lost and the Mini 5 Pro has sufficient light, the drone can use its non-GNSS RTH mode to use real-time vision positioning and map construction to memorize flight routes for a safe return. Thanks to nighttime imaging performance, nighttime RTH mode can use the forward LiDAR to detect objects for uneventful low-light flights home.
Intelligent Tracking and Flight Modes

Pilots can continue to create pro-level sequences with the Mini 5 Pro and DJI’s assortment of tracking and automatic flight modes.

 

  • FocusTrack: This system upgrades ActiveTrack to ActiveTrack 360, keeps Spotlight and Point of Interest, and adds automatic Standard and Cycling modes. The Mini 5 Pro can use Standard to follow a path in real time and maintain a steady altitude and distance. If it detects the subject cycling, it can enter Cycling mode for better reaction to quick turns and speed changes.
